Help the Cause
Here are just a couple ways that you can help Taylor and her cause:
Wear a TAYLOR-WARREN Leukemia Awareness Wristband
I originally got some of these, a la LIVESTRONG, for Taylor's immediate family to wear in her support, but I've had a lot of people ask me how to get one. I ordered some more and I know you want to get your paws on one, so here's the deal ... They are available in two sizes: Medium (7" around) and Large (8" around) and all you have to do is: Click on the above link or HERE and it will take you to Paypal - a secure third party website - where you can make a donation to the Taylor Warren Leukemia Fund. For any donation of $5 or more you will get a FREE wristband sent to you in the mail. There is a space there to indicate your preferred size. Once you get your wristband, all you have to do is wear it - pretty easy way to help out! People will probably ask what it is for ... please don't hesitate to relay the story! Wear a Taylor Warren LEUKEMIA FIGHT CLUB T-Shirt
Taylor isn't the first person in the family that's been a patient at Cardinal Glennon - Uncle Jason did some time there back in '83 when he had his stroke. When Taylor went in to Cardinal Glennon, Uncle Jason took the t-shirt he got when he was there and customized it a bit with the heart & angel wings design - a symbol that he and Taylor both now share as a symbol of triumph through tragedy. While there's only one original ... now you can sport that same design in support of Taylor, too as a member of the Taylor Warren LEUKEMIA FIGHT CLUB!
Donate Blood or Platlets
Regular blood and platelet transfusions are part of Taylor's treatment. As of present, Taylor has received 10 blood transfusions and platelets 4 times. You would think that there is a ton of blood just waiting around for this, but the Red Cross is always in need, especially for rare blood types and universal donors. Platelets are a different story altogether - Because of their extremely short shelf life of platelets, the inventory has to be rotated often and platelets older than 10 days get thrown away. Taylor has received platelets on at least one occasion that were going to expire the same day she received them - If she hadn't they would have hit the trash. To date she has been lucky and never needed to wait for platelets, but waiting for platelets is something that happens frequently The Red Cross is desperate for platelets 365 days a year. While the blood and platelets can not be set aside specifically for Taylor, you can donate in honor of Taylor Warren. Give the gift of LIFE! CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE!

Every day nearly 6,000 people hit up the National Marrow Donor Program database in search of a life saving donor. For many of these people that suffer from leukemia, lymphoma, and other life threatening diseases, a bone marrow donation is the difference between life and death. Fortunately at the this point Taylor's treatment has not required a bone marrow transplant, but that's not to say it's not a possibility in the future. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE!
Write Letters to the Jesters of Washington
CureSearch's goal is to unite and mobilize as many voices as possible in order to raise awareness and ensure childhood cancer is a national public policy priority. Take five minutes and hit up your elected officials to let them know where you stand on important pieces of legistlation that will be coming across their desk. I remember what Bonka always said: "If you don't participate in your government, you can't complain about your government." (By the way, this letter thing is way easier than it sounds: The forms are all pre-set, so you really don't have to write a letter, you just register and press send!). If enough people take action, maybe our government will get the picture and stop building bombs and chasing evildoers all over the world and start spending a little money at home. As I'm sure many of you already know, medical bills ain't no joke! The hospital bill for Taylor's first 6 days at Cardinal Glennon was over $60,000. Now, granted, the family's insurance covers a great majority, but even after that, Taylor's family is left with substantial medical bills - and that's only for the first 6 days! But the real bills kick in with the constant admitting fees and inpatient hospitalization co-pays every time Taylor is checked-in the hospital, and then there's the really fun days when you check out and then she's checking back in 12 hours later - that's right, 2 co-pays (And you know the insurance companies aren't soft on that)! Taylor is on 11 medications at present and even after insurance the prescription co-pays add up quickly. I think you see what I am getting at here ... Leukemia isn't a short term battle - it is a long war. There are many more of these bills and co-pays that will rack-up over the next three years. The Taylor Warren Leukemia Fund was set up so that individuals and corporations who wanted to make donations to help out had a way to do just that. Any amount, no matter how large or small, is greatly appreciated. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE!
