What a month...Maintenance Rocks!
Wow what a summer so far! Let me start off by saying our trip to Florida was more that we could possibly have imagined. We had the opportunity to go to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World while we were there! All three were amazing! While we were there, we stayed at Give Kids the World Village. And let me say it is a Village all about giving kids the world. We could have just stayed there for our whole vacation and that would have been amazing all on its own. I don’t want to give out too many details on the Village for any Wishers that may not have visited yet. It would take away from some of the magic if you knew everything that was there. While we were on our trip...

In this Case...No News IS Good News!
It has been good and crazy here! Taylor started Maintenance on May 27, 2008. She will be finishing treatment on December 26, 2009! Taylor got her spinal tap and chemo with no problems and two weeks in and her counts are great! The girls have been out of school since the Friday before Memorial Weekend. We have been busy...

I'm a Ballerina
Sorry that I have not been on here much ... just busy being a kid right now.
It is summer, you know!
For all of you that don't know ...
I'm a very good dancer.
I take ballet and tap classes at my school, Sacred Heart Villa. A couple weeks ago was our big recital, and I got out of the hospital just in time to make the big show. It was a lot of fun. Here are a couple pictures of me in my dance outfits that we took up at Namma and Bonka's house last weekend. One is even in a photo contest and you can vote for it HERE!

Whew! We made it!
Well…as many of you may have gathered from reading some of the twinkles WE ARE HOME!!! To our surprise, we, well Taylor, was discharged Monday afternoon. YEAH!!! I had kind of thought maybe Tuesday, but definitely wasn’t expecting Monday. Even though she did not get any chemo this week, Tuesday was her last official day of Delayed Intensification. We will start Maintenance this coming Tuesday. I cannot believe that we made it this far. It just seemed like Maintenance was so far away for so long and now it is here. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and this time it is only an arms reach away! We still have until January 2010 for treatment but from what I am told Maintenance should go much smoother, less hospital stays, less side effects, more normalcy, etc.
This week we have been busy attempting…

Still in for Mother's Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! I hope all of you had a great day! Taylor is doing about the same. She is still on isolation awaiting one of her test results to come back (which should be tomorrow)! As good as she is feeling it is killing her to be stuck in her room with her door closed (most of the time). Baby Emma was admitted Saturday and she is having a hard time with Taylor on isolation, too. All Emma wants to do is hug all over her and play together with her. We let the girls each sit on their own side of the imaginary line that was in Taylor’s doorway. That way they could talk and play, but no sharing toys or touching. The other day, Taylor heard Baby Serina crying across the hall and was yelling (in a calm voice) from her doorway, “Ssshhhhh….it’s okay Serina, its okay, don’t cry.” She will probably never come in her room after they let her off isolation.
She has been eating mostly anything since Saturday. We are still... Continue reading "Still in for Mother's Day" »
