Whew! We made it!
Well…as many of you may have gathered from reading some of the twinkles WE ARE HOME!!! To our surprise, we, well Taylor, was discharged Monday afternoon. YEAH!!! I had kind of thought maybe Tuesday, but definitely wasn’t expecting Monday. Even though she did not get any chemo this week, Tuesday was her last official day of Delayed Intensification. We will start Maintenance this coming Tuesday. I cannot believe that we made it this far. It just seemed like Maintenance was so far away for so long and now it is here. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and this time it is only an arms reach away! We still have until January 2010 for treatment but from what I am told Maintenance should go much smoother, less hospital stays, less side effects, more normalcy, etc.
This week we have been busy attempting…

Still in for Mother's Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! I hope all of you had a great day! Taylor is doing about the same. She is still on isolation awaiting one of her test results to come back (which should be tomorrow)! As good as she is feeling it is killing her to be stuck in her room with her door closed (most of the time). Baby Emma was admitted Saturday and she is having a hard time with Taylor on isolation, too. All Emma wants to do is hug all over her and play together with her. We let the girls each sit on their own side of the imaginary line that was in Taylor’s doorway. That way they could talk and play, but no sharing toys or touching. The other day, Taylor heard Baby Serina crying across the hall and was yelling (in a calm voice) from her doorway, “Ssshhhhh….it’s okay Serina, its okay, don’t cry.” She will probably never come in her room after they let her off isolation.
She has been eating mostly anything since Saturday. We are still... Continue reading "Still in for Mother's Day" »

Teased with Food
Sorry for not blogging yesterday, the internet was not working on the parent’s computer last night. Taylor was back on a regular diet yesterday. She ate half a hot dog, some curly fries, and 3 tater tots. She slept through dinner and through up a couple times after she woke up…..so that meant…

Chicken Browth Anyone?
My Little Peyton...she is getting so big...her 11 Month Birthday was today! Wow...can't believe it! Okay...just had to say it. As far as Taylor...we had a good day today. She slept all morning until about 12:45 PM. She wasn’t up all night, so I am not quite to sure why she slept so late. Well maybe it is because her darn port only works during the Dye Study and beeps all night long. So between the beeps going off all night and the nurses contorting her body in all different positions to get her port working…she can’t really get a good nights rest! So she requires a long period of time to sleep...I guess? Anyway…to Taylor’s excitement she was put on a Clear Liquid Diet today. She made it the whole night with no Morphine and has yet to need it today. With the possibility of being able to...

Belly is feeling a little better???
Taylor’s belly pain doesn’t seem to be as bad today as it has been so that is a good sign. If she can go the night with no belly pain and no need for morphine, then she may be able to start of clear liquids tomorrow and see how that goes. She has started to vomit…well dry heave at least. She hasn’t eaten or drank anything since Friday evening so there really is nothing in her to throw up but she is doing her best. So we will see if her vomiting makes a difference in whether or not she can start to drink again.
Her counts are still low. She did have an ANC today, it was a whopping… Continue reading "Belly is feeling a little ... »
